What is good for young children? Most families are overwhelmed by the choices they are forced to navigate when it comes to media and technology. How much is too much? How do you prepare a child for the technological world? How do you set limits for your children or yourself? According to a press release, Katy Smith will present four Help Me Grow presentations to help parents answer these questions.
Smith is a community educator with degrees in social work and parent education. She also has master’s degrees in education and early childhood public policy and advocacy. She was named Minnesota Teacher of the Year in 2011 and has presented to many audiences on topics related to parenting young children.
Parents of young children, educations, child care providers, social workers and health professionals are invited to attend Help Me Grow: When Parents Know, Children Grow. For each event there is registration at 5:30 p.m. along with a meal and table discussion. Presentations take place March 15 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, April 5 at Central Lutheran Church in Winona, April 12 at Rochester Century High School in Rochester and April 19 at Vintage Ballroom in Faribault. Presentations run from 6 to 8 p.m.
A free meal is available with registration three days prior to the training date. Space is limited. Registration can be made at http://goo.gl/forms/Dh1ZwukbYu.
