According to a press release, the Albert Lea farmers market will host its annual meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Pizza Ranch in Albert Lea.
The local farmers market is a nonprofit group that supports and assists local producers in marketing their products more efficiently and profitably and provides customers with fresher, tastier and healthier products. Vendors can sell vegetables, fruits, baked goods, eggs, jams and jellies, bedding plants, flowers, local crafts, meats and pickles, according to state regulations. These items all need to be produced by the seller unless approved by the board.
The local farmers market is open every Wednesday afternoon from mid-May through October at the municipal parking lot on North Broadway and from 9 a.m. to noon at the Northbridge Mall parking lot. The time will be announced at a later date.
Anyone interested in joining the farmers market is encouraged to attend. Those who are unable to attend the meeting may contact Kathleen Bleckeberg at 507-402-1516 for more information.
