HAGER CITY, Wis. — Sheriff’s officials in western Wisconsin said the body of a missing mother has been found in her van submerged in the Mississippi River.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said 23-year-old Marya Christiansen has been missing since early Saturday when she left a friend’s house in Red Wing.

The sheriff’s department’s water patrol unit found the woman’s van near the Trenton Island boat launch under a back channel bridge Wednesday. The Goodhue County Sheriff’s dive and rescue team recovered Christiansen’s body after pulling the vehicle from the water.
