Healthy workers are happy workers

The wellness program at Riverland Community College matters to me. It keeps me aware that it is about moving more, eating less and liking yourself enough to take care of yourself. Because of our wellness program, I’ve tried yoga, tai-chi, meditation and laughing yoga. I’ve met with a dietitian, participated in a book read and walked in a winter storm to put miles on my fitness tracker to meet my daily goal for one of our numerous walking challenges! It’s also helped me connect with co-workers on a personal level. We help each other focus on our health.
No matter the size of the business, there are simple, inexpensive things you can start to benefit your employees. If you can’t make the free Why Wellness Matters Worksite Summit from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. April 6, contact the Chamber about Worksite Wellness programs. Healthy employees are happy employees.
