Lois Bice, 1929-2016

Memorial services for Lois E. Bice of Alden will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden. The Rev. Greg Ofsdahl will officiate. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the church.
Lois died Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at St John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea. She was 86.
Lois was born June 10, 1929, in Freeborn County, the daughter of John and Goldie (Johnson) Morgan. She graduated from Alden High School in 1947. On April 28, 1956, she was united in marriage to Lane “Joe” Bice at Grace Lutheran Church in Alden. They lived in Albert Lea for a short time before making their home on the Morgan family farm near Alden. Lois was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and had been employed first with Mattick Grocery in Conger, Conger Co-op Elevator, Interstate Power Co. and retired from the Albert Lea school district where she had been a bookkeeper.
Lois was a member of the Red Hat Society and the “Lois club.” She enjoyed playing bingo and trips to the casino, and especially loved spending time at senior dining and time with family and friends.
Lois is survived by brothers LeRoy “Bud” Morgan of Conger and Donald (Gladys) Morgan of Rose Creek; many nieces, nephews and godchildren; brother-in-law, Larry (Gloriann) Bice, of Brooklyn Park; and sister-in-law, Margery Bice, of Mankato.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe; brothers Verle, Harvey (Bertie) and Russell Morgan; sisters Marvel (Alvin) Farris, Mavis (Ivan) Farris and Darlene (Donald) Fischer; and sister-in-law, Carol Morgan.
