The NRHEG softball team picked up its 10th victory of the season with a 13-0 shutout of Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Friday afternoon.
The Panthers used a three-run first inning to jolt them into an early lead, and never looked back after that.
“It was a good team win,” said Panthers coach Wendy Schultz. “The girls hit the ball pretty well and played good defense in cold weather.”
In the fifth inning, the Panthers scored six runs, their biggest output of any inning, to end the game in five innings.
Paige Knudson, Grace Johns, and Torrie Stencel combined to go 8-12 at the plate with eight RBIs, six runs scored and two stolen bases.
In all, the Panthers pounded out 12 hits.
Anna Lundberg was very good on the mound, again, as she pitched five innings and allowed just one hit. She struck out four.
The Panthers are 10-4 on the season, and will play in Blooming Prairie Monday.
