The Freeborn Historical Society announced the creation of the 23rd Eddie Cochran print by artist Eloise Adams.

Shown at the top is the Country Inn & Suites, who with the Green Mill is sponsoring the Friday Nite Cruise-In Social.

Included in the classic car show will be a 1950 Cherry Deluxe owned by Mark Becker of Becker auto in Hayward, a 1957 Chevrolet 210 shown by Jeff Bennett and a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air belonging to Jerry Monson.

Lower left is Eddie’s Bar, located on Marshall Street. Pat and Gloria Fitzgerald bought the bar in 1970 from Eddie Dumbroski. When Pat died in 2013 Gloria took over the bar. At the time, one of the bartenders was married to one of Cochran’s sisters.

Lower right is the Broadway Twin theatre. Eddie and his friends loved going to the movies, where a Saturday afternoon double feature cost only 12 cents. Eddie’s favorite movie cowboy was Hopalong Cassidy.

Eddie is shown in his cowboy hat performing in the summer of 1955, before he had any hit recordings. The lyrics to one of his records, “Bad Baby Doll” appear in the center. Below Eddie in his cowboy hat is David Shriver, Eddie’s bassist, a member of the Kelly Town who backed Eddie Cochran.

Also shown are the famous “Rock ‘n’ Roll” group The Whiteside Walls, who will be entertaining Saturday night.

The prints — both black and white hand-painted — are numbered and signed by the artist.
