The Albert Lea Schools instrument drive is winding down, but there is still time to bring used instruments to the high school office. The official drive ends this month, however, the schools welcome instrument donations at any time.
Suzanne Mauer, ALHS director of bands, said the schools usually receive one or two instrument donations each year.
“We would really like to thank everyone who has already donated, and we would love to get a few more,” Mauer said.
The schools have received around 15 string, woodwind and brass instruments since beginning the drive in May. Many are already in the repair shop and will be ready for use when school begins in August.
Donations may be dropped off at the main office at ALHS during business hours. If a receipt is desired for tax purposes, instruments should be labeled with the name and address where the receipt should be sent.
