An Albert Lea man was injured Saturday in a fatal car crash on Interstate 35 in Rice County.

Faisal O. Aden, 28, was transported to Northfield Hospital with an injury deemed not life-threatening.

A 2003 Toyota Camry driven by Aden and a 1999 Buick Regal driven by Callista M. Boe, 22, of Minneapolis, were driving south on Interstate 35, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The Regal reportedly lost control and struck the median guard cable. Boe reportedly exited the vehicle and was struck and killed by the passing Camry shortly after 12:30 a.m. on I-35 near the Northfield and New Prague exit.

Jason R. Erhardt, 35, of Owatonna reportedly sustained a not life-threatening injury and was not transported. Vincent R. Laforgia, 29, of Owatonna reportedly did not sustain injuries. Erhardt and Laforgia were both passengers in the Regal.

Northfield Police Department and Rice County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene.
