After its game was rained out Thursday, Lake Mills was on the diamond for a doubleheader with Forest City Friday night.

The Bulldogs were looking for a sweep against the Indians as they head into the final week of the season.

The Bulldogs and Indians played a pair of one-run games, and they split the doubleheader.

The Bulldogs won 5-4 and lost 5-4.

Grant Boehmer got the start in the first game, and he pitched six innings and gave his team a chance to win.

The Bulldogs scored one run each in innings one through three, but the Indians countered with three runs in the second inning, and took a 4-3 lead in the third.

The Bulldogs evened the game in the fifth inning when they scored a run.

The Indians would provide their fans with some walk-off magic.

They scored a run with no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the game, and send the Bulldogs to their fourth loss in five games.

However, the Bulldogs didn’t have to wait long to get revenge.

The second game played out nearly identical as the first game.

Lake Mills scored four runs in the second inning to go up 4-0, but Forest City would answer later with four runs in the sixth.

In the seventh inning, it was the Bulldogs who pushed across a run to take a 5-4 lead.

Lake Mills pitcher Zach Throne closed out the game and retired Forest City 1-2-3 in the seventh.

Cael Boehmer, Charlie Dugger, Zach Throne and Luke Groe all had two hits apiece in the second game. Boehmer drove in two runs, too.

The Bulldogs will be in action Tuesday when they host St. Ansgar.

First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
