Funeral services for Arnold W. Lund, 97, of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Clarks Grove. The Rev. Jamie Cameron will officiate. Interment will be at Clarks Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Arnold died Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Thorne Crest Retirement Community.

Arnold W. Lund was born Sept. 10, 1918, in Bath Township, the son of Hans and Grace (Hanson) Lund. He grew up in Bath Township, attending country school and Clarks Grove School. After school, he farmed with his family and worked as a hired man. On Oct. 7, 1937, Arnold married Laura DeBolt. Together, they raised seven children and purchased their farm two miles west of Geneva in 1942. Arnold had a dairy herd and farmed 80 acres. He married Dorothy Christenson on Nov. 30, 2001; they were later divorced. Arnold was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Clarks Grove. In his later years, he enjoyed camping and wintering in Bibleville, Texas.

Arnold is survived by children Pat (Wilbur) Draayer, Edith Earnest, Karen (Richard) Nelson, Loretta (Dwight) Schewe, Charles (Linda) Lund, Sue (Dean) Westrum and Tom (Hiedi) Lund; grandchildren Deb (Gary) Wilking, Michael (Sue) Draayer, Nancy Beam, Joe Earnest, Wayne Earnest, Cindy Earnest, Roger (Kathy) Nelson, Gary (Anne) Nelson, Jeff (Kim) Nelson, Lorie (Kent) Paulson, Dale Schewe, Allen (Aimee) Schewe, Erik (Sarah) Dahl, Tim (Jodi) Westrum, Angie (Josh) Lair, Jerry (Tanya) Westrum, Jamie (Joey) Nichols, Andrew Barth and Alex Barth; 31 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; sisters Virginia Miller and Betty Anderson; and brother-in-law, Marlin Bates.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents Hans and Grace Lund; wife, Laura Lund; grandson, Phillip Westrum; daughter-in-law, Janice Lund; brothers Leland Lund and Melvin Lund; sisters Muriel Ingersoll and Dorothy Bates; brothers-in-law Harvey Ingersoll, Merlin Anderson and Herman Miller; sister-in-law, Virginia Lund; granddaughter-in-law, Karen Nelson; and great-grandson, Kayde Barth.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Clarks Grove Cemetery, First Baptist Church of Clarks Grove or the donor’s choice.
