Marcella Jacobsen

Marcella V. (Krosch) Jacobsen passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016, at her home in Jacksonville, Florida. She was 93.
She was born in Faribault County, the daughter of Vern and Agnes (Allis) Krosch. Marcella graduated from Freeborn High School in 1940, where she met her future husband Grover Jacobsen. They were married April 17, 1941. The couple farmed the three generation family farm near Freeborn, before retiring to Jacksonville, Florida. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, painting and square dancing both in Minnesota and Florida.
Marcella was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a friend to all who knew her.
She is survived by three daughters, Roseann (Mac) McFarland of Jacksonville, Janet (Willie) Townsend of Callahan, Florida, and Lyn (Lynn) Sorenson of Wells; eight grandchildren, Vickie, Elizabeth, Walter; Amy, Henry; Lyn Mary, Lyn Lisa, Lynn James; 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale (Pam) Krosch, of Minneapolis; one brother-in-law, Warren Behrends, of Albert Lea; two sisters-in-law, Lois Bohnoff and Janice Jansen, both of Albuquerque; along with several nieces and nephews and their families.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Grover; her parents; sister, Almira; brother, Marlin (Delores) Krosch; one grandson, William; and brother-in-law, Luman Jacobsen.
The family suggests memorials to the Freeborn Museum in Freeborn.
