4 injured in I-35, I-90 crashes

Two Boone, Iowa, residents were injured Friday in a crash on Interstate 35 in Freeborn County.
Ronald L. Mills, 72, and Anita J. Mills, 61, were transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with injuries deemed not life-threatening.
A 2011 Peterbilt Semi driven by Darrin R. Turek, 35, of Montgomery and a 2015 Chevy Suburban driven by Ronald Mills were heading north on I-35, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The Suburban was reportedly pulling a boat trailer and in the left lane, attempting to pass, when it lost control and sideswiped the semi trailer, the report stated. The Suburban then struck the bridge barrier and the boat trailer flipped onto its side at 9:15 a.m.
The left lane of I-35 was reportedly blocked for approximately an hour while the scene was cleared.
Turek and Les Mills, 41, and Matthew J. Mills, 14 — both passengers in the Suburban — did not suffer any injuries.
The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Department, Minnesota Department of Transportation, Gold Cross Ambulance and Albert Lea Township Fire Department assisted on scene.
Two injured in I-90 crash
Two Quebec, Canada, residents were injured Friday in a motorcycle crash near Bricelyn.
Gianfranco Sarro, 48, of Laval, Quebec, and Guylaine Lagace, 57, of Pointe-aux-Trembles, Quebec, were transported by Bricelyn Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with non life-threatening injuries.
Sarro was driving a Harley-Davidson west on Interstate 90, according to the Minnesota State Patrol, when the motorcycle left the roadway to the left, rolling in the median at about 1:45 p.m., according to the report.
The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, Wells Police Department and Bricelyn Fire Department assisted on scene.
