Area veterans are invited to the All Veterans – All Eras Family BBQ Picnic at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Northwood’s fairground Shelter House. The group skipped the annual picnic last year so the Vietnam Veterans of America chapter members were able to help staff the Operation LZ Welcome Home event last year.

The All Vets picnic is hosted by local Vietnam Veterans of America, Jerry Parmley North Star Chapter 790. Veterans from all around the region will be gathering from World War II, Korea,  Vietnam, Desert Storm, current Iraq and Afghanistan troops and Cold War periods as servicemen and women come together to share the day. All veterans and their family members are welcome to attend.

The picnic will serve an All-American menu of burgers, brats, hot dogs and cold drinks. The group welcome all appetizers, side dishes, fruit bowls, salads and desserts, bars and chips to share for a super buffet. Plates and utensils will be provided.

Afternoon entertainment will be provided by Vietnam vet Bob and friend, Chet.

Those who plan to attend should enter the side gate at the fairgrounds and park and ride the shuttle to shelter and back.
