Don’t worry about rock star’s comments

This is in response to all of the people who have complained about the fair board’s decision to have rock star Ted Nugent play at the fair this year. Frankly, I am sick and tired of hearing about it! I’m sure others are also! You say you don’t like Mr. Nugent belittling people, but what do you think you are doing? The same thing!

It’s everyone’s right as an American to express their feelings and to exercise our First Amendment rights, and that is exactly what Mr. Nugent and Mike Woitas of the fair board have done, including you.

Simply put, if you don’t like Ted Nugent, then you didn’t have to see him, did you? You did your own thing. But not everyone agrees with your opinions. They come to the fair because they like his music, period. Seriously, do you think anyone cares what he says? And honestly, do you really believe that any of the stars we have had at this fair throughout the years have had 100 percent moral values? I don’t think so! We are all humans with imperfections.

You say you want to set an example and put forth good values to our children, by protesting, dividing this community and recklessly making a fuss just because of one man’s opinions? So much drama over one man! Sticks and stones. It seems to me that there are more important things to teach our children like love instead of hate, forgiveness instead of revenge and teaching them that not everyone is perfect in this world.

Instead of worrying what a rock star has to say, I would focus on what the world leaders and our presidential candidates have to say! They will determine you and your child’s future.

Be realistic and realize that we have many young and older generations in our community that happen to like rock music, and there is nothing wrong with that.

I believe one of the fair board’s goals for each year is to make money, and that’s exactly what they did! I applaud them.

And by the way, if anyone has not been happy or disapproved of the fair board’s decisions, then I suggest you try to get on the board yourself and see if you can do better!
