Cancer center receives donation

The Wells Area Save 2nd Base committee recently donated $12,000 to the Cancer Center on the Albert Lea campus of Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea and Austin. Pam Klocek, second from the left, presented the check to Dr. Timothy McKone, radiation oncology at Mayo Clinic, and Cancer Center employees Jenni Mattson, Bethany Handen, Marilee Gustitus and Lola Evans. The committee — founded and run by the Klocek family and their friends — has raised more than $92,000 for cancer care on the Albert Lea campus since 2009. In addition to being a representative of the committee, Klocek is a breast cancer survivor. -Provided
