BauerFinancial Inc. of Coral Gables, Florida, has announced that United Employees Credit Union of Albert Lea has earned its highest five-star rating. According to a press release, this marks the 80th consecutive quarter that United Employees Credit Union has earned this top rating which puts it into the group of Exceptional Performance Credit Unions. The designation is reserved for those institutions that have achieved a five-star rating for 10 years straight.
BauerFinancial has been analyzing and reporting on the nation’s banks and credit unions since 1983. Earning a five-star rating from Bauer indicates that the United Employees Credit Union is one of the strongest credit unions in the nation. Some of the areas in which it excels are capital, loan quality and profitability.
“We’ve been doing this for a long time,” said Karen L. Dorway, president of BauerFinancial. “We’ve seen the ups and the downs of this industry and the one constant, is that credit unions like United Employees Credit Union, that promote the financial well-being of their members, continue to shine, even in the toughest of times. Since it is member-owned, knowing its members and helping them thrive comes full circle back to the credit union itself.”
United Employees Credit Union was established in 1932 and has been serving the changing needs of its members ever since. Today, in addition to its website at www.unitedecu.com, United Employees Credit Union operates through its office on Bridge Avenue in Albert Lea.
Matt Maras has served as the president of United Employees Credit Union since 1994.
