An elderly Wells woman was injured Monday after a vehicle she was driving struck a tree.

Yvonne M. Walker, 81, was transported to River’s Edge Hospital in St. Peter with an injury deemed not life-threatening.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Walker was driving a 2014 Chevy Equinox south on Minnesota Highway 22, west of St. Peter, when the vehicle crossed over the northbound lane, left the roadway, went through a fence and struck a tree shortly before 3:30 p.m. Monday.

The Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office and St. Peter Police Department assisted on scene.
