Emmons residents injured in broadside crash

Two Emmons residents were injured today in a broadside crash south of Albert Lea.

James H. Herr, 67, and Renae J. Herr, 64, were transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with not life-threatening injuries.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, James Herr was driving a 2004 Buick LeSabre north on Highway 65 when the vehicle collided with a 2011 Buick Enclave driven by Patricia M. Beck, 65, of Alden, that was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Highway 65 and Freeborn County Road 84.

The crash occurred at about 11:45 a.m.

Beck was not injured in the crash.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the report stated.

The Albert Lea Police Department assisted on scene.
