Waterville-Elysian-Morristown is one of the better volleyball teams around the state.

United South Central found that out Thursday night.

The Buccaneers rolled the Rebles in three sets, and didn’t allow them to score more than 10 points in any set.

“We played a very good team,” said Rebels coach Joe Kuechenmeister. “(W-E-M) played with a lot of pace, and we haven’t seen that kind of pace or attack yet this season. It really caught us off-guard.”

Despite the loss, Kuechenmeister noticed some good things his team did.

“We were able to extend rallies, but we struggled to win points because of how defensively sound (W-E-M) was, and that’s a credit to them. We have got to work to find ways to score, though.”

The Rebels will take part in the Mankato West tournament this weekend at Minnesota State University-Mankato that starts Saturday morning.
