New medical director starts at Fountain Centers

Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea and Austin recently welcomed Tyler Oesterle, M.D., M.P.H. as medical director of Fountain Centers.
Oesterle is the first addiction psychiatrist to serve in the medical director position at Fountain Centers, which was expanded to complement the
continuum of addiction services provided to patients. Oesterle will meet with patients in the residential and extended care treatment programs in Albert Lea to address their addiction and mental health concerns and work with them to develop an individualized treatment plan.
Oesterle will also be an integral member of the Fountain Centers leadership team; developing and implementing the strategic and operational direction of the department as we work together with Mayo Clinic Department of Psychiatry and Psychology.

Oesterle completed his residency in adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry and addiction psychiatry through the Division of Adult Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Prior to joining Mayo Clinic Health System, Oesterle served as medical director of Recovery Plus and Adolescent Recovery Plus at CentraCare Health System in central Minnesota. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Minnesota Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association and American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
His interests include rural mental health, child and adolescent psychiatry, addiction psychiatry and neurobiology of addictions.
