A.L. cross country competes

The Albert Lea boys’ and girls’ cross country team was in action at the Faribault Invitational Friday afternoon.
The boys’ team finished in 16th place and the girls received an incomplete score.
Carson Goodell kept up his solid running, as he finished in 10th place with a time of 17:03.
Vidal Moreno came in 81st place with a time of 18:55 and Joseph Kreun took 96th place with a time of 19:10.
Noah Wiese came in 100th place with a time of 19:19, William Kreun came in 111th with a time of 19:51 and Jens Lange finished in a time of 19:52 and in 112th place.
Joshua Martinez finished in 116th place with a time of 20:14.
For the girls, junior Autumn Muilenberg finished in 26th place out of 127 runners. She came in with a time of 20:36.
“We had some strong individual performances,” said Tigers coach Jim Haney. “I was especially happy with (Carson) and (Autumn) in the way they attacked the course. I was also proud of the rest of the boys’ team. Many of these young men were running varsity for the first or second time in their high school careers. They will continue to improve.”
Albert Lea will be back on the course in Rochester Thursday afternoon.
Start time for the race is scheduled for 4 p.m.
