The Trinity Lutheran Church Women hosted their annual Pioneer Day luncheon on June 2. The theme of the luncheon was “A Danish Feste.” The decorations followed the theme.
The women were welcomed by Co-chairwoman, Pat Goldman. Marlene Wright gave a thumb nail sketch of women’s activities over the last century as well as giving devotions.
In keeping with the theme, Erna Berthelsen prayed the Danish table prayer in that language and also gave a translation.
The co-chairwomen of the event were Ann Goodmanson and Karen McGill. Lunch was prepared by the Mary and Eunice circles. The circle chairwomen were Pat Hanson, Marlene Wright and LeAnn Juveland.
Jan Drews introduced the program. Gail Thurnau and Mary Wayne, also known as “Lena and Mena,” gave a program of words and music.
The offering meditation was given by Virginia Plantage and the ushers were Goodmanson and McGill.
The following announcements were made:
Envelopes for donations to Katie’s Fund are available. The bloodmobile will be on June 17 with Trinity providing the food. A request for donations of food was made.
Guild sewing day will be June 9. Women’s Day at Good Earth Village will be on June 19. The group was encouraged to begin thinking about attending the Triennial Gathering in Spokane, Wash., in July 2011.
