As the regular season winds down, momentum is a big thing for many teams. Every team wants to head into the playoffs with positive momentum.
Despite a loss Saturday, the Albert Lea girls’ soccer team was able to get itself back on course with a 3-0 victory over Faribault Tuesday night.
“We had a number of players play different positions tonight, mostly for experience purposes,” said Tigers coach Laura Wangen. “The team is looking forward to finishing up the season strong with positive and confident attitudes before entering sections.”
Goalkeeper Kathryn Flaherty recorded her third shutout of the season.
The Tigers sit in fifth place in the Big Nine Conference standings, and are three points out of third place.
Albert Lea has four matches left on the season — two on the road and two at home.
It will travel to Mankato East Thursday.
Start time for the match is scheduled for 5 p.m.
