Immigrants will affect jobs, welfare

During what’s commonly called the Great Wave (1880-1924) of immigration, a little over 26 million immigrants came to the United States. They made up a little over 12 percent of the population.

Now we are in the middle of the Second Great Wave (1970 to present) — 1970 being about the time when the landmark immigration law of 1965 began to really take effect. This Second Great Wave has brought 41 million and pushed the foreign-born share to 14 percent.

There are various comparisons that could be made, but the bottom line is that what’s happening now is going to have a major effect on jobs, welfare, etc. in this country.

Then we have Obama and Clinton wanting to bring even more people into our country (without vetting them). I don’t know that we will be able to absorb all of these people, say nothing of not knowing who they are or what their real purpose of them coming here is.
