Preserving the Past: Becoming a museum member

Published 10:00 am Sunday, October 9, 2016

Have you ever wondered about being a member of the Freeborn County Historical Museum?  There are so many amazing benefits to being a member. Some of those benefits include periodically free admission into events sponsored by the museum, use of the library for research and supporting the preservation of the history of Freeborn County.

If all of this is not enough of a reason —wait, there is more. You can visit the museum year round. For just $35 your entire household gets to visit the museum, village and library as much as you would like. We also have other memberships available for businesses and schools. Please contact me if you would like more information about other membership opportunities.

I would like to also highlight our wonderful meeting room facilities. We can accommodate 10 to 150 people in our meeting rooms. We have hosted baby showers, informal gatherings, presentations, banquets, business meetings and workshops. Our meeting rooms are known for their clean accommodations and helpful staff.  Please call 373-8003 and book your meeting today.

We continue to host defensive driving classes at the museum. Our next refresher class is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Another refresher will be offered from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 17. Please contact the museum at 373-8003 for more information on these and any further classes.

Remember to check us out on Facebook and make sure to follow us to get updates on the museum. Also, you can hear me on KATE radio every Sunday morning for updates from the museum. I love visitors, too, so come on in and see me; we are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays.
