Late TD leads to win

NRHEG’s offense has been explosive this season and is led by Perry Peterson and Sam Prigge.

Friday night was a different story for the Panthers, as they struggled to score points, but somehow managed to do just enough to win the game, 14-11.

“We were very fortunate to win this game,” said Panthers coach Dan Stork.

LeSueur-Henderson planned to stop Peterson, and did. The Giants loaded the box and held Peterson out of the end zone and to 33 rushing yards.

Down 11-8 with under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Prigge led the Panthers on a game-winning drive that ended with him crossing the goal line on a 1-yard run with 1:33 remaining.

The Panthers generated 234 yards of total offense and the Giants made every yard difficult to gain.

“The (Giants) did a very good job and had a very good gameplan,” Stork said. “They did a very good job of mixing up their defenses, which caused a lot of confusion for us up front.”

The Panthers didn’t allow a sack, but they turned it over three times.

Nonetheless, the Panthers (5-1) got a very important victory over a tough team.

NRHEG will look for its sixth victory of the season when Lake Crystal-Wellcome-Memorial comes to town Friday.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
