Rep. needed who is bipartisan

Yes, Dorothy Porter, state Rep. Peggy Bennett did equate gay marriage with bestiality. Her quote from this past summer’s Freeborn County Republicans picnic is, “I vote Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I can even marry my German shepherd.”

Bennett apparently thought she was repeating an actual David Letterman top 10 list. The degrading fake list validated her partisan viewpoint, and she didn’t properly evaluate its authenticity. We all have this failing to some extent, but we need a representative who is driven by bipartisan, problem-solving spirit rather than ideological rigidity. We deserve that from everyone who represents us at the state and federal level. Vote for Gary Schindler, Dan Sparks and Tim Walz on Tuesday.
