Two warrants were issued Thursday in Freeborn County District Court for a Glenville man who faces sentencing after pleading guilty to felony threats of violence in August.

The warrants were issued for Jose Hipolito Solano, 42, after he failed to appear for sentencing in connection with the charge and for a hearing in connection with two counts of misdemeanor domestic assault.

Solano was charged with felony threats of violence after he allegedly became angry with a woman he knew about comments that had been made about her and another personal relationship in July 2015.

Solano reportedly “back-handed her,” swore, pulled her hair and pulled her back into a vehicle when she attempted to leave.

Solano reportedly threatened to kill her.

Court documents state Solano drove to a house in Glenville and belittled her. He reportedly physically assaulted, choked and threatened to kill the victim.

The victim was reportedly seen at Mercy Hospital in Mason City following the incident.

Solano was originally also charged with domestic assault by strangulation and misdemeanor domestic assault on the threats of violence file, but those charges were dismissed with the plea agreement.

Felony threats of violence carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
