Who would have thought it’d turn out like this?

Only in America could this happen. Someone goes and applies for a job for the very first time and gets hired — especially for the job of president of the United States of America.
I don’t know how you feel about this but I know he is not going to disappoint me. I didn’t vote for him. Now the Republicans are in control of the Senate, the House, the presidency and soon to be the Supreme Court. Those pesky Republicans won’t be able to blame the Democrats for anything.
One of Trump’s first objectives is to reduce the filthy rich’s taxes by 10 percent. Now who would have thought? The average Joe thought Trump was talking about reducing his taxes, and he voted for him. The Republicans have been doing this for years. They have never voted for one bill unless it had a benefit or tax loop hole for the filthy rich. You would think the average Joe would have learned this by now. His other priority is to deport 11 million undocumented aliens and building a 3,000 mile wall that Mexico will pay for. When this falls through, I will be right there to say “see, I told you so.” I am not kidding you, I will definitely enjoy doing that.
Trump had also made it one of his priorities to get rid of Obamacare. The reason we got Obamacare was because insurance rates were getting out of reach for the common person. This was due to health care going up. I remember when I was complaining about paying $35 for a doctors appointment. Now I am getting charged $150. It is not Obamacare that is responsible for rates going up. If we all put our money into one pool it makes sense that our insurance rates will go down. After all, they don’t pay for advertising or insurance agents to sell you the policy, so be careful for what you wish for you might get it.
I was really impressed by those two letters to the editor in Sunday’s paper. One letter was titled “The glass ceiling” by Lonna Gooden Van Horn from Northwood, who mentioned Trump was endorsed by the KKK. There was also “Trump-brand U.S.,” written by Ted Hinnenkamp, who talked about trickle-down economics doesn’t work — like I have been saying for years. I still feel I wear the crown of being the most hated person in Albert Lea by those far-right Republicans. I’m looking forward to someone knocking this crown off my head. Those two letters gave me hope that it might be coming soon.
