I wanted to publicly congratulate Robert Rasmussen on his win election night. I’m sure he will do well serving the residents of the 5th Ward. I also wanted to thank all of the other candidates who ran, by putting yourselves out there and being open to becoming vulnerable. Thanks to all who supported me in my run for the 5th Ward seat. Thanks for the kind words, the honesty, the hugs and for generally being supportive. The experience was one I won’t forget, and I thank you all for that.  I’d like to leave you with two thoughts, the first being, one person doesn’t make a city greater, but a city can make a person greater. The second is by NHL Hall of Fame player Wayne Gretzky; “You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take.” Thanks for allowing me my shot.
