Funeral services for Cheryll “Cheri” L. Potter, 72, of Alden will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Redeemer Lutheran Church. The Rev. Greg Ofsdahl will officiate. Interment will be at Alden Cemetery. Cheri died Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at home after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Cheryll Leona Potter was born Oct. 28, 1944, in Fairmont, the daughter of Harvey and Lorraine (Bruns) Iverson. She grew up in Storden and went to school at Storden High School and Union Hospital in New Ulm.

On Aug. 22, 1965, Cheri was united in marriage to Stuart Potter in Storden. She worked as a nurse at Albert Lea West Clinic. Cheri went on to work at several insurance agencies, including State Farm, Security Insurance, Americana Bank & Insurance and Donna Nelson Insurance. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and its choir, Alden Legion Auxiliary and Red Hats. Cheri enjoyed reading books, Reader’s Theater, attending basketball and football games, and supporting youth projects. She also enjoyed camping, family get-togethers, watching TV, singing and listening to music.

Cheri is survived by her husband, Stuart; daughter, Stephanie (Matthew) Hallman; son, Matthew (Amy) Potter; seven grandchildren, Samuel (fiancee, Hilary), Katherine, Elijah and Jordan Hallman, and Hannah, Isaac and Sophia Potter; brothers Steven (Diane) Iverson and Mark Iverson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Cheri was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
