Bute’s 34 points lead Knights to win

Alden-Conger girls’ basketball player Erika Bute scored her team’s way to another victory Monday night against LeRoy-Ostrander.

Bute, a sophomore, finished with 34 points and 11 rebounds in the Knights’ 60-35 win.

The Knights led by four points at the half, but then exploded for 34 points in the second half, while holding the Cardinals to just 13 points over the final 18 minutes of play.

Kelsey Newman finished eight points and 10 rebounds, and Abbie Theusch and Megan Linn each grabbed 11 rebounds for the Knights, who are now 2-1 on the season.

Alden-Conger will be on the road Friday night against Martin County West.

Tip is set for 6:30 p.m.
