The NRHEG boys’ basketball stayed undefeated with a 55-42 win Monday night over Tri-City United.
Oakley Baker helped the Panthers to a 3-0 start with 18 points and 14 rebounds as he dominated the game. Tyler Raimann also finished the game with a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Despite the win, Panthers coach Pat Churchill wasn’t pleased with how his team came out of the gates.
“I thought we came out flat offensively,” Churchill said. “We weren’t moving or screening, and we were trying to score quickly without making Tri-City’s defense work.”
The Panthers held a slim four-point lead at the break.
NRHEG’s defense allowed 24 points in the second half and 42 for the game, giving Churchill a good feeling.
“Any time you hold an opponent to under 50 points, it gives your team a chance to win, especially if your offense is struggling,” Churchill said.
NRHEG will be back on the hardwood tonight when it hosts Le Sueur-Henderson.
