Funeral services for Jennifer R. Cornelius of Geneva will be at 1 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Ellendale. The Rev. Randy Cirksena will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Bonnerup Funeral Service chapel in Ellendale and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Geneva Cemetery.
Jennifer died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at her home in Geneva. She was 70.
Jennifer was born March 26, 1946, in England, the daughter of Jens and Joan (Fletcher) Olson. She graduated from Owatonna High School and then received her nursing degree from Austin Community College.
On Dec. 23, 1967 she was united in marriage to Vernon Cornelius at Ellendale United Methodist Church.
Jennifer was a member of Assembly of God Church in Ellendale for many years and was active as a youth group leader. She loved spending time with children and sharing her gifts of music, singing and laughter. She enjoyed all the wonderful friends she made over the years.
Jennifer is survived by her husband, Vernon; children Melissa (Henry) Large of Kansas City, Missouri, Chad (Julie) Cornelius of Lakeville, Matt Cornelius of Lakeville and Joshua Cornelius of Maple Island; and one person who shared a special place in their family, Raymond Luna, of Minneapolis. Grandchildren include Alecia Large, Lydia Large, Maddison Cornelius, Ethan Cornelius, Jordan Cornelius, Jayde Cornelius and Jacob Cornelius. Brothers and sisters include Joy Pearson, George St. John, Benj St. John, Steve St. John, Tim St. John, Joni Digman, Jack St. John, Margie Higgins, Joe St. John, Susie Kruse and Gary St. John.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Jared Large.
