1. Geneva Cancer Auction
The 33rd annual Geneva Cancer Auction will begin at 7 p.m. Friday and continue at 2 p.m. Saturday at Geneva Bar & Grill.
Established in 1985, the Geneva Cancer Auction raises funds for cancer research in an effort to eradicate cancer.
The auction will continue Jan. 20 and 21.
Raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win various cash prizes and a 48-inch TV.
2. Albert Lea Art Center All-Member Exhibit
The Albert Lea Art Center will host an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at 226 W. Clark St. for its annual All-Member Exhibit.
The event is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
3. Bridal Expo
Soon-to-be brides and others are invited to attend the 2017 Bridal Expo from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Northbridge Mall, 2510 Bridge Ave. The latest styles of attire will be on display, as well as more information about the photographers, caterers and venues that are available. A fashion show begins at 3 p.m., with prize drawings from vendors at 4 p.m.
4. Outdoor Rock on Ice
Albert Lea residents are invited to venture out to Hayek Park Friday for a night of music, ice skating and activities.
From 7 to 9 p.m. will be Albert Lea Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Rock on Ice.
The rink opens for use at 4 p.m., and at 7 p.m. disc jockey Jacob Abrego will begin playing music.
People will be able to play hockey or ice skate.
There will be ping pong and other games available inside the warming house, as well as hot chocolate for people to enjoy.
The event is free to the public, though people are asked to bring their own skates.
5. Live music
Michigan native and Minneapolis-based folk Americana singer-songwriter Matt Hannah will perform live from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday as part of Live Music Fridays at The Interchange Wine & Coffee Bistro.
Hannah’s debut solo acoustic album “Let the Lonely Fade” has been heard on radio stations across the country.
