It was a battle of undefeated against winless between NRHEG and Medford in boys’ basketball Friday night.
Even without Oakley Baker, who has been a main contributor to the team this season, the Panthers rolled to an easy 63-30 victory and is now 17-0 on the season.
“I thought we looked a little out of sync tonight,” Panthers coach Pat Churchill said. “(Medford) played with a lot of energy all night long, and we struggled to find a rhythm offensively for most of the first half.”
Despite not being “in rhythm” on offense, NRHEG’s defense stifled Medford, holding it to 13 points in the first half.
A 20-point halftime lead ballooned to over 30 points in the second half for the Panthers.
In Baker’s absence, Tyler Raimann scored 18 points, and Benji Lundberg and Jason Jongbloedt each scored 10.
Perhaps NRHEG will face its toughest test of the season on Tuesday when it travels to Waseca (15-1).
Tip off for the showdown is slated for 7:15 p.m.
