A visitation for Travis A. Chapman will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel in Albert Lea. A light lunch will be provided by the family. Family and friends are asked to bring memories and stories of Travis to share, and come as you are – just as Travis did.
Travis Chapman passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, at his home in Jordan. He was only 36.
Travis Allan Chapman was born on Dec. 16, 1980, in San Jose, California, to Gerald Chapman and DeBra Jensen. The family moved to the Albert Lea area when Travis was 4-years-old. Travis moved to Eden Prairie, and eventually Jordan, when he was a teenager. It was there that he met some very close, lifelong friends.
Travis worked at My Pillow in Chaska and most recently at a convenience store in Jordan. He enjoyed many things in life. He was an excellent artist, creating brilliant drawings. He liked to listen to metal music, play guitar, ride skateboard and be on his computer. He couldn’t go a day without eating cereal – Cocoa Puffs being his favorite. Travis was a laid back, quiet, easy going guy. He stayed close with his tight knit group of friends.
He will be remembered as a great guy who was loved by all who knew him, and someone who always had a smile on his face.
He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and aunts Nancy, Dawn, Esther and Gerry.
Travis is survived by his parents, Jerry (Robyn) Chapman and Debbie (Ron Sickels) Lestrud; grandmother, Beulah “Bea” Goering; siblings Sandy (Mark) Skalicky, Teisha Chapman, Candice Lestrud and Shantel Chapman; aunts and uncles Robert (Lynn) Chapman, Donna (Vic) Avery, Roberta (Duane) Herold, Donald Euerle, Renee (Rocky) Hunter and William Jensen; and with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Blessed be his memory.
