Letter: When will rest of the Republicans see the light?

What’s going on with the Republican Party? Obama begged the Republican Party to change what they wanted or come up with their own universal health insurance program of their own to replace Obamacare. They refused and said they were going to abolish universal health care.

Now, Peggy Bennett, a Minnesota state Republican representative, had an article in the Albert Lea Tribune on Sunday, Jan. 29,  entitled “Important step made in fixing health care.” She voted for the bill and our Democrat governor of the state signed it immediately. Why are the Republicans doing this now? They have obviously seen the light. The American people have wanted this since President Truman was in office. Obama got it through. It doesn’t matter how the Republicans change it and figure out ways to make it better or call it what they want to call it. Universal health care will always be known as Obamacare. It sure won’t be called Trumpcare. I only hope the rest of the Republican Party will see the light like Peggy did and get off the idea of giving the filthy rich more tax benefits and tax breaks. I find it hard to believe that we give foreign aid to countries that furnish universal health care to their citizens.

There was another article in the Albert Lea Tribune on Jan. 24 that I have heard a lot of positive remarks about. It was titled “You don’t owe loyalty to someone who is not truthful,” written by Jennifer Vogt-Erickson. This article gives us a lot of insight into how we can be easily mislead. If you have discarded this paper, it would be worth going to the Tribune and asking for a copy of the paper for that day. I am also in that paper with a letter to the editor. If you don’t have an open mind, then don’t waste your time. I am still bragging.   I didn’t vote for Trump.
