Forest City pulls away from Lake Mills

In its last game of the regular season, Lake Mills faced one of it toughest tests of the season in Forest City.
A tough second half led to a 13-point loss, 70-57, for the Bulldogs.
“We played well, but not quite well enough to win,” Bulldogs coach Thad Evans said. “Regardless of the outcome, I’m happy with how we performed.”
Forest City (14-6) and Lake Mills were tied at halftime, but the visitors scored 23 points in the third quarter to take the lead for good.
Evans said if his team plays like it did Monday, they might surprise some people in the tournament.
“If we can maintain and improve from here, we can make some noise in the [section] tournament,” Evans said.
Laura Knudtson led the Bulldogs with 21 points and Jewell Gasteiger scored 19.
Lake Mills’ opponent in the playoffs has not been released.
Lake Mills will finish its regular season schedule on Thursday against Eagle Grove in a game that was rescheduled from Jan. 24.
