Albert Lea ends regular season with win

The Albert Lea wrestling team is picking up momentum as the regular season comes to a close and sections next week.

The Tigers traveled to Rochester to duel with Mayo in their final Big Nine match of the season.

The Spartans proved to be no match for the Tigers, as Albert Lea ran away with 47-22 drubbing of Mayo.

Nic Cantu, Jake Johnsrud, Gavin Ignaszewski, Logan Donovan, Brody Nielsen, Garrett Aldrich, Zach Glazier and Brady Nielsen earned victories for the Tigers, who took eight of the 14 matches.

Sections will take place Thursday and next Saturday.

Albert Lea’s bracket and seed have yet to be determined.
