The NRHEG boys’ basketball team didn’t play its best game Tuesday night against Blue Earth, but it was still good enough to come away with a 68-48 win.
Oakley Baker scored 15 points and Benji Lundberg added 12 points to lead the Panthers.
“We didn’t play our best game,” Panthers coach Pat Churchill said. “We came out with no energy and kind of had a letdown game.”
Despite that, the Panthers built a 14-point lead at the half.
“Credit (Blue Earth),” Churchill said. “They played hard all night and took us out of rhythm.”
NRHEG didn’t hit a shot outside the paint until Sam Prigge’s buzzer-beater before halftime, but was 20-34 inside the paint until that time.
“This was not our finest performance,” Churchill said. “But we did enough to get the victory.”
NRHEG is 23-2 on the season and plays at Bethlehem Academy on Friday.
