Area under tornado watch

Much of central and southern Minnesota and northern Iowa are under a tornado watch, according to the National Weather Service.
The watch continues through 10 p.m. It includes the counties of Faribault, Steele, Waseca, Freeborn and Mower counties in Minnesota and Worth and Winnebago counties in Iowa, among others.
The area is also under a wind advisory through 9 a.m. Tuesday as a cold front pushes through this evening with wind gusts of 45 mph possible.
After a lull in intensity overnight, west winds will increase again Tuesday morning with gusts of 60 mph possible through early evening.
Tree damage, and power outages are possible, according to the Weather Service. Unsecured, lighter objects will be blown around, and driving may be difficult, particularly on east and west roads today and north and south roads Tuesday.
