Harmony Junction Chorus — an all male, acapella, four-part harmony group — recently donated the proceeds of it’s Christmas concert to a local charity.

A free will offering, which was taken at the group’s Christmas concert, and the proceeds were donated to Youth for Christ.

In previous years, the group has donated to other area organizations, including The Salvation Army, Ecumenical Food Shelf and the Freeborn County Historical Society.

“The chorus really appreciates the support and generosity of the folks that come to these Christmas concerts as it allows us  and other groups that are part of the recital such as the Faith Tones and the Albert Lea Community Band — to share our musical talents with the people of our community while supporting the various nonprofit organizations that provide so much to our town,” said Pete Rush, Harmony Junction’s president.

According to Rush, the chorus is happy to welcome new members into the group as well. Those interested do not have to be trained in music or be able to read music. They only need a love of music and the desire to be a part of the group.

Potential members are invited to come to one of the group’s practices at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at United Methodist Church in Albert Lea.
