Letter: Am I losing my memory?

I just came from the doctors office today. I had been feeling down and thought I had a touch of Alzheimer’s  disease.   I asked my doctor if there was any chance I could get a brain transplant. He said, yes, but Medicare wouldn’t cover it. So I asked him how much it would cost. He said it depends on what kind of a brain I wanted. So I asked him what my choices were. He said I could have a Republican brain for $5,000 or a Democrat’s brain for $200. So I asked him why there was such a big difference in the prices. He said all Democrats brains have been used. Doesn’t this fit in to what’s going on in this country right now? When Trump inherited this country, there were no body bags coming home from across the big pond, there was zero inflation, interest rates in the banks were as low as they have ever been, the stock market was at record highs, farmer’s land was worth more than it ever has, gas was down around $2 a gallon, nobody was starving, everyone had health care, unemployment was as low as it has ever been and it has been a long time since the cost of living has gone up.

Trump said he was going to make America great again.   It has slipped my mind on what he was going to do to do that.  That’s why I went to the doctor about my forgetfulness. I have asked several average Joes who voted for Trump why they voted for him. Many answered because he will reduce their taxes. Another had memory loss. I don’t remember when a Republican had ever reduced their taxes. If they ever did, they had something in the bill to give the filthy rich a bigger tax break or benefit. Just like Trump’s  proposed reduction now. He wants to give the top 1 percent a 7.3 percent reduction in their taxes and a 1.7 percent reduction to middle class tax rates. This is just typical of the Republicans. The Democrats want to raise the taxes on the filthy rich and reduce the taxes on the middle class, and they want to raise the minimum wage. This is what you call working for the middle class and the average Joe. It’s not hard to know when you are talking to a die-hard Republican now. They have absolutely no sense of humor. I am still bragging. I didn’t vote for Trump.
