Pamela (Ferley) Badik, 1956-2017

Pamela Diane (Ferley) Badik died Wednesday, April 12, 2017, in Pasadena, California, surrounded by her family and the staff of Regency Park Astoria Assisted Living and Faith in Angels Hospice.

A burial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mountain View Cemetery in Altadena, California.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Silver Lake Lutheran Church in rural Northwood. The Rev. Randy Baldwin will officiate. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.

Pam was born to Seymour and Darlene Ferley on March 28, 1956, in Albert Lea. She lived her first 19 years on a farm near Emmons, where she also attended school. After graduating from high school, she attended North Iowa Area Community College and studied nursing. Pam worked at Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood as the charge nurse and at North Iowa Medical Center, where she was a surgical scrub nurse.

In 1980, Pam moved to California to receive special medical care for her spine. In 1988, she met her husband, Thomas Badik, in Pasadena. Pam and Tom married on Oct. 8, 1988. Tom preceded her in death in 1994.

Pam was a member of Lutheran Church of the Foothills in La Canada, California, until her death. She was an avid sports fan and could often be found outdoors on long walks while her health allowed. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, niece, aunt and friend, and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her parents Seymour and Darlene Ferley of Albert Lea; brother, Lynn (Sally) Ferley of LaGrange, Texas; sister, Robyn (Jim) Carter of West Melbourne, Florida; nieces Natalie (Anneke) Moretz, Andrea Moretz, Stefanie (Crystal) Moretz and Tana (Travis) Peaco and their children, Jason and Raylee; nephews Michael Ferley and Travis Ferley; aunts and uncles Sharon (Art) Moretz, Richard (Marlys) Nelson, Wayne (Judy) Nelson and Jean Nelson; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

Pam was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; her maternal and paternal grandparents; aunts and uncles Robert “Bob” Nelson, Ardella and Leo Hagen and Lyla and Glen Ferley.

The family would like to thank the staff of Regency Park Astoria Assisted Living in Pasadena for their loving care of Pam from 2012 until her death.
