St. Clair holds United South Central to 1 run

The United South Central softball team has suffered some tough losses this season.
The Rebels were 1-6 coming into Friday’s game with St. Clair and had scored just seven runs in their last four games.
The offense continued to struggle as USC fell to St. Clair by a score of 8-1.
Even though the Rebels lost, head coach Paul Meyer saw a lot of positive things from his team.
“We are getting so close,” he said. “We left the bases loaded in one inning and two runners on in another. A hit or two and it’s a different game.”
Defensively, he said he was pleased with some of the plays his team made.
“We made a couple of nice plays, but also had a few mishaps,” Meyer said. “So again, a play or two could make a difference.”
Kortney Harpestad led the Rebels’ offense, going 2-4 with an RBI.
USC will play Monday at NRHEG.
