50 years ago: 1967

• The Albert Lea High School baseball team defeated Rochester Mayo 10-3. The Tigers were led by Doug Johnson, Byron Nelson, Donn Drommerhausen and John Morley with 2 hits each.

• In Albert Lea Women’s City League softball Northside Mobil defeated Kristy’s Drive Inn 20-16. Mary Christian was 4 for 4 and Diann Schroeder was 3 for 4 with 6 RBI’s for the winners.

• Conger Lutheran shut out St. Theodores 7-0 in Church League softball. Winning pitcher was Ken Heine with a 2 hitter. Gary Johnson, Bob Lindeman, Milford Bohonek and Carl Rasmussen each had 2 hits for Conger.

• Ken Sibilrud threw a 1 hitter for the Eagles in their 2-0 victory over Trades & Labor in an Albert Lea City Softball League game. Murph Berg and Max Swenson each doubled for the Eagles.

25 years ago: 1992

• Julie Mullenbach hurled a 1 hitter and Kim Otterson had 3 hits and drove in 3 runs for the ALHS softball team in their 10-0 win over Fairmont. 

• The ALHS baseball team also was a winner over Fairmont by an 8-5 score. Aric Knutson led the Tigers with 3 hits. Getting 2 hits for the Tigers were Mark Willmert, Steve Brigger and Steve VanMaldeghem.

• The ALHS boys golf team won the Big Nine Conference with a score of 304 to second place Austin with a score of 321. Phil Schmidt of the Tigers was medalist with a 75 stroke score. Team members were Schmidt, Troy Neist, Todd Intihar, Chris Boysen, Brendan Danielson and Chris Baas.

• Named to the 1992 All-Big Nine Conference Softball Team was Amy Beese of the Tigers. Receiving Honorable Mention were Julie Mullenbach and Kim Otterson of the Tigers.

10 years ago: 2007

• Kirsten Amberg shot a 92 for medalist honors for the United South Central girls golf team in their 416 – 431 defeat of New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva for the Gopher Conference title.

• Freshman Jon Mittag threw a 2 hitter for the Glenville-Emmons baseball team in their 5-2 win over Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain.
