Thefts reported
A theft of tools was reported at 12:59 p.m. Monday at 308 W. Main St. in Alden.
A theft in progress was reported at 9:24 p.m. Saturday at 519 Main St. in Hartland. The caller reportedly saw people in two pickups take a trimmer from the property.
Albert Lea police received a report of a theft of a tractor motor that took place on Friday from 216 Fountain St.
Police arrested Jessica Ann Hayes, 33, at 12:38 p.m. Monday at Dairy Queen, 2530 Bridge Ave., after receiving a report of a theft of about $3,000.
Police received a report of a stolen car at 6:05 p.m. Monday at 1011 Virginia Place. The owner was reportedly trying to sell the vehicle, and a man came to test drive it and did not return.
A metal and wicker plant stand were reported missing from a porch at 3:08 p.m. Sunday at 121 Adams Ave.
Items illegally dumped in Albert Lea
Illegal dumping of a couch, chair and mattress were reported at 9:08 a.m. Saturday at 904 19th St., Albert Lea.
Downed power causes tree fire
A tree fire was reported at 3:51 p.m. Saturday at 71338 180th St. as a result of some downed power lines. Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services responded to the downed lines.
Credit card fraud reported
Credit card fraud of $150 was reported at 1:44 p.m. Monday at 411 S. Broadway.
Suspicious person reported
Albert Lea police received a report at 3:46 p.m. Monday of a white man with dark hair who was not wearing a shirt, and who was reportedly walking eastbound on Freeborn County Road 19 carrying a four-inch blade with a handle. The area was checked.
Counterfeit bill turned in
A counterfeit bill was reported at 3:57 p.m. Monday at 1452 W. Main St.
Bad checks reported
Police received a report at 11:59 p.m. Monday of a person who bought purses on Facebook with bad checks and who was now selling the purses on Facebook.
Several bad checks were reported at 9:06 a.m. Friday at 1230 Madison Ave.
A $500 bad check was reported at 5:20 p.m. Friday at 1663 W. Main St.
Fraudulent prescriptions reported
Police received a report of someone who was illegally signing a doctor’s name on a prescription at 12:10 p.m. Friday at 404 Fountain St.
1 arrested after suspicious behavior reported
A 13-year-old was reportedly arrested at 3:14 p.m. Friday after police received a report of several juveniles going in and out of the bathroom smoking something at 300 Johnson St. Items were seized, and contact was made with the juvenile’s mother.
2 arrested on warrants
Police arrested Ruth Ann Smith, 77, on a local warrant at 3:40 p.m. Friday at 314 E. Third St.
Police arrested John Anthony Garza, 36, on a local warrant at 2:58 p.m. Saturday at 2440 Bridge Ave.
1 injured when car and motorcycle collide
One person was reportedly injured after a car reportedly pulled out of a driveway into the path of a motorcyclist southbound on Bridge Avenue at 10:54 a.m. Saturday. No other information was available as of press time.
1 injured by dog bite
A dog bite was reported at 12:04 p.m. Saturday at 502 Hammer Road.
