Eastbound Interstate 90 motorists near Albert Lea will encounter a right lane closure beginning Monday as crews repair concrete pavement, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The right lane of eastbound I-90 will be closed from mile marker 160, which is east of Albert Lea, to mile maker 165, which is west of Petran exit. Crews will need five days to repair the pavement in one section, then beginning July 24 crews will need another five days to repair another concrete section within the same five-mile area. All work should be complete by July 28.
In places, the pavement will be removed and replaced. During the process the lane will have gaps and breaks, which is why traffic will be restricted to a single lane in the eastbound lanes. No restrictions will be placed for westbound traffic.
